Baccara

Baccara was a female vocal duo formed in 1977 by Spanish artists Mayte Mateos (07.02.51) and María Mendiola (04.04.52 – ✝11. 09.2021). Baccara sold more than 16 million copies of “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie” and featured in the 1977 edition of the Guinness Book of Records as the highest-selling female musical group to date. A successful follow-up single (“Sorry, I’m a Lady”) and European tour led to a number of album releases, numerous television appearances and the duo’s selection to represent Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest 1978.

After Baccara split Mayte Mateos, began to perform in 1999 with Cristina Sevilla (March 1965) publishing two recordings in the six years of being together:

Soy tu Venus (in 2004)

Cristina Sevilla joined María Mendiola in 2010 until September 2021, publishing their first album together in 2017.

“I belong to your heart”, in addition to his latest single “No Sir, don’t say Goodbye” published in July 2021, under the direction of producer Luis Rodriguez (Team 33) his current label.

To carry on Maria Mendiola’s legacy Cristina Sevilla returns to take up the duo again, with strength and enthusiasm, together with Helen de Quiroga (December 1964), to embark on a new path together, at the request of numerous fans and their work and artistic environment.

Helen de Quiroga, studied at the school of dramatic art in Malaga, has collaborated in the last 25 years with renowned Spanish and international artists, such as Miguel Bosé, Julio Iglesias, Alejandro Sanz, Joaquín Sabina, Ana Torroja, among others, in addition to having published several record works with “Dversion”, throughout his long career.

She has starred in the musical “Cat’s, in the role of Grizabella, and in other roles in” Annie “,” The magic of Broadway “and in” Scaramouche “, as Queen Marie Antoinette.
She has also put her voice sung in Spanish to different Disney characters, such as Thalía, the muse of music in “Hercules”, Úrsula, the octopus witch from “The Little Mermaid” and Zira from “The Lion King”
Helen and Cristina have known each other for more than 30 years, they love, respect, and admire each other.
